An Apology

Well, I have to apologise for not writing a post for AGES!!! It's been a little bit crazy here with food poisoning/ gastric band issues/ incorporating the business etc so I just haven't had the energy to write a post! I do have another blogger babe who kindly wrote a post and I haven't even had chance to upload it yet! It's been pure chaos!

Amongst all the chaos, Fashion Fiend Boutique was formed (a subsidiary of R & B . (Yorkshire) Ltd) and we've just been all hands on deck trying to get it up and running.

I haven't been able to do much other than talk to people on social media and advertise it as much as possible. However, we've had more sales than I could have imagined to say we've only just started and I'm so proud of my husband and mum for getting stuck in even though they have to help look after me, 2 kids, another business and god knows what else!

We have managed to go out a couple of times although I've struggled quite a bit when I've been out! One of my oldest friends came back from Ireland to see everyone and we went out for a meal. I wore a gorgeous dress from the boutique and I felt so proud!  This dress is perfect (especially if you've been ill!). It hides any bloating you may have, it's a gorgeous length so will look good no matter how worried you are about your legs and has sexy mesh so still makes you feel young and hot! I teamed it with our PU Jacket as it was a chilly evening and I honestly felt amazing!

Currently on an "All for £40 deal" which includes dress, jacket and handbag!

I also managed to enjoy a lovely girlie day with my mum (although I was really poorly half way through so it wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be!). I decided to treat mum to a few new clothes/ handbags etc as she deserves it. I know we all love our mums so much and we all think our mum's are the best but I really do think I have the world's best mum and definitely would have struggled so much without her help, support, encouragement and love!

Anyway,  I decided I'd make an effort so wore a khaki green shirt dress I got in the sale from New Look teamed with a matching Khaki bag (also from New Look) ans gorgeous nude/ tan boots from Just Fab UK!

I do need your opinions though...does this shirt dress make me look larger than I am? It's a size 16 and was quite baggy (If you buy it, try the size down from what you normally wear in a shirt dress) and I'm not 100% sure that it's flattering! Anyway I'm sure you'll let me know!

I'm hoping to be able to post on here a bit more now I have everything in order and now don't have much else to do (other people are now looking after my business interests mainly). I will sometimes post about my own Boutique but it won't be all the time. I'll only post about the items I've personally worn as I think it's only fair.  I'll still be showing off my best buys from the high street!  ❤

Casual Days

Yesterday we had some errands to run and I wanted to get out of the house (hardly been out since my operation) So we decided to take the kids to a local retail park.

We decided to go to Nandos for dinner (which was delicious) and Amelia enjoyed the vibe - she wouldn't stop dancing to the music even when her chicken came (we just loved the dancing chick chick!).

It was a lovely family day out which we don't often have because it's usually so difficult but because I managed on my crutches,  we could have a look around without me having to push a pushchair as well as being in the wheelchair!

I'd love to know where you'd recommend for a family day out! Leave a message in the comments box!

A Very Happy Day

Today was a good day. A very good day. I have tried not to speak of my disability too much so I don't bore everyone today but I have to mention it as it has been such a happy day.

For over a year, I have struggled to walk at all and have been wheelchair bound or relying on my beloved zim-zim (zimmer frame) around the house.  I've fallen more times than I care to remember and have honestly feared for my baby's life whilst I was pregnant with Sebastian.

My operation was just over two weeks ago and we didn't expect too much from it. We expected my pain to be reduced in ways but it could have flared up due to another condition affecting my ankle. We didn't expect any improvement mobility wise and believed I'd need various other operations and treatment before I would get any kind of improved mobility.

Today, I walked to the park using my crutches.  I know it may only be 20 metres down the road but I walked there none the less.  We, as a family, went our of the house with only a pushchair on wheels with far less stress and hassle than we have done for the last year and it felt incredible!

I know giving birth to my children and getting married to the love of my life are the best days of my life but this came pretty close!

I have a long way to go as I am now in a lot of pain after the walk and I have sensitivity back quite bad (read up on CRPS or COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME if you're interested) but I feel like I've accomplished something. We (including myself before my accident) take walking for granted and when I became pregnant,  I dreamed of taking my children to the park or to a theme park and enjoying it with them. I dreamed of going to the beach and playing with them just like any other parent does.  I dreamed of packing the kids up on a weekend and going camping or going on family holidays last minute if we wished. For a long while, it seemed those dreams had completely gone however, now I have a positivity back that I haven't had for a long time! I often get sideswiped by my health so not being too confident but I'm happy and that's the main thing!

Anyway here's some photos from the day - not my usual blog attire but hey, I don't always wear make up and dress ok! 😂😆😉

Post Surgery Fashion

Apologies for my posts being very sporadic recently! I have A LOT of health issues at the moment so I have to prioritise my health and my family meaning I rarely get time to post!

Tuesday was D-Day for me as I was having surgery to remove the pins and plates that have ( badly) held my ankle together for over 4 years. I was so unbelievably nervous so I didn't sleep the night before so my husband decided to take me to anywhere that was open 24 hours to do some shopping to take my mind off of the impending operation.

By the time the sun came up, we'd got some drinks from McDonald's, lots of clothes and toys for the children,  some new clothes for my husband and a few clothes for me. I spent far too much money but it did have the desired effect - wasn't thinking about my operation!

I didn't need to go into hospital until 4.30pm so spent the day sleeping, organising the house and bathing ready for my operation. I sat at my dressing table and looked at my wardrobe and thought "what do you wear to go into hospital?". I'd love to know your thoughts!  Anyway I wore a simple shirt dress with leggings,  boots and faux fur Gillet!

The surgery went as well as could be expected and I'm happy that I am now home and on the mend!

With my surgery and everything, we haven't planned Easter particularly well and forgot to buy food but invited my grandparents for dinner! When we realised late Saturday night that all the supermarkets were closed Easter Sunday (obviously) we had to book somewhere to take my grandparents Sunday! We managed to find somewhere eventually but this meant me getting out of my pjs for the first time since the op!

It took me a very long time but I managed to get ready and wore a fairly casual outfit. In my opinion, it wasn't my most flattering look but it was relatively comfortable which, at this moment in time, is the most important aspect!

Well I'm off now to see to my poorly 4 month old! Next post will be after Thursday (my husbands birthday).

This Fashion Fiend is Back!

I have been away for a little while to concentrate on helping my husband get better after he broke his collar bone a couple of months back. He's had surgery and he's getting better now so I'm back. I have recently had a very bad fall and unfortunately I am completely wheelchair bound now so the photos I'm uploading will be from a couple of weeks ago. I really love faux leather at the moment and feel so sexy in leather but sometimes it's not very feminine. I found a beautiful dress from Missguided which ticked so many boxes for me.

Dress from MissGuided

This dress is perfect for me. It is sexy with the faux leather but it's feminine because of the pastel nude colour. It is also bang on trend with the tuxedo style wrap over. It is no longer available from MissGuided's plus size section but they have lots of tuxedo style dresses available.
