The Birthday Disaster!

Yesterday (31st March) was my wonderful husbands 29th birthday and I had been looking forward to celebrating it with our family. When I woke up, I didn't feel particularly well but thought I'd get a shower (sat down in the bottom of the shower tray as I still have my foot bandaged up) and get ready and surely I'd eventually start to feel better.

I managed to get out for Michael's Birthday lunch with his mum, dad and brother but afterwards I felt extremely ill and we ended up having to cancel going to the Chandelier Champagne bar (in Doncaster) which I was devastated about (especially because I had my outfit all picked out and babysitters sorted.

I did, however, manage to get a few pictures before I got that ill that I had to go to bed. When you have two young children, I think it is near on impossible to get a nice family picture.  Today,  we managed to get one, of sorts (although Sebastian was asleep and Amelia was more interested in the TV!).

I personally believe that although it's a pain in the a**e to get these photos usually, they are so worth it! These are memories to cherish and photos always help to jog your memory!

Try as we might, Amelia was not going to let us get a proper "outfit pic"! She looked so adorable but she was in her Sassy "I won't pose for pictures" mood today so we gave up after a while! At 19 months old, she isn't really interested in fashion but I like her to look nice, especially on a special occasion!

I usually dress her up in girlie dresses but today I found out an outfit she has been bought for summer and just adored it! This outfit had tribal print, bright colours,  animals and gladiator sandals involved so pretty on trend but in a suitable child like way! I would happily have worn that outfit but with a skirt in the print of the leggings instead!

Top from River Island
Leggings and Gladiator sandals from TU Clothing at Sainsbury's

At the moment, as much as I love fashion, it isn't a huge priority as I am in a lot of pain and I am struggling with Man Flu in all honesty. Today I threw together an outfit I hoped worked.
Waistcoat, tights and boot from Primark
White caged body from Boohoo
Skirt from Newlook

I don't believe today was my finest look however I have to give a huge shout out to that tan leatherette skirt. I have worn it at least 10 times already and never worn it more than once with the same top/ waistcoat/ Gillet combination. That skirt is far more versatile than I ever thought it could be and is definitely a go to piece of clothing if I'm struggling to decide what to wear!
