What a Day...

Today went catastrophically wrong in so many ways and I just had to write about it. The joys of starting up a business is that you don't know which suppliers are the best to use!

Today, me and my wonderful husband drove to Lancashire and had to collect a parcel of shoes ready for Bank Holiday weekend whilst my mum took care of our little ones. On our way we got stuck in so much traffic  and even saw an air ambulance try to land after an awful crash on the M62 (If anyone saw it, please let us know that everyone survived as we've been so worried about the people involved) and eventually got to our destination at 4.30pm (we had to start deliveries st 6pm). Anyway to cut a long story shorter (I do go on, I know!) We ended up setting off to do deliveries at 7.30pm and didn't get in til 10.30pm!

I went straight into our inflatable hottub when I got back as I was in so much pain from being in the car all day and it really worked wonders! Although I didn't need to be in there for an hour and half!

Anyway, I'm now comfortably sat in my new loungewear that I've bought from Fashion Fiend and I'm in love!

I am ultra comfy and as I lose weight (hopefully anyway, I'm trying once I've finished my kebab!) It'll fit even better! I feel more comfy in this than pj's especially if I have my CBT therapist or my nail technician come to the house. Sometimes I'm in A LOT of pain and sleep in longer than I should so I don't have chance to pick an outfit etc. With this, I can throw it on but it just looks like a tracksuit or casual clothes.

Anyway I took a few photos to see what you guys think of it. Hope you love it as much as I do!

Both Loungesuit and Trainers from Fashion Fiend Boutique although the Loungesuit isn't on the website yet.

An Apology

Well, I have to apologise for not writing a post for AGES!!! It's been a little bit crazy here with food poisoning/ gastric band issues/ incorporating the business etc so I just haven't had the energy to write a post! I do have another blogger babe who kindly wrote a post and I haven't even had chance to upload it yet! It's been pure chaos!

Amongst all the chaos, Fashion Fiend Boutique was formed (a subsidiary of R & B . (Yorkshire) Ltd) and we've just been all hands on deck trying to get it up and running.

I haven't been able to do much other than talk to people on social media and advertise it as much as possible. However, we've had more sales than I could have imagined to say we've only just started and I'm so proud of my husband and mum for getting stuck in even though they have to help look after me, 2 kids, another business and god knows what else!

We have managed to go out a couple of times although I've struggled quite a bit when I've been out! One of my oldest friends came back from Ireland to see everyone and we went out for a meal. I wore a gorgeous dress from the boutique and I felt so proud!  This dress is perfect (especially if you've been ill!). It hides any bloating you may have, it's a gorgeous length so will look good no matter how worried you are about your legs and has sexy mesh so still makes you feel young and hot! I teamed it with our PU Jacket as it was a chilly evening and I honestly felt amazing!

Dress and PU Jacket from Fashion Fiend Boutique
Currently on an "All for £40 deal" which includes dress, jacket and handbag!

I also managed to enjoy a lovely girlie day with my mum (although I was really poorly half way through so it wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be!). I decided to treat mum to a few new clothes/ handbags etc as she deserves it. I know we all love our mums so much and we all think our mum's are the best but I really do think I have the world's best mum and definitely would have struggled so much without her help, support, encouragement and love!

Anyway,  I decided I'd make an effort so wore a khaki green shirt dress I got in the sale from New Look teamed with a matching Khaki bag (also from New Look) ans gorgeous nude/ tan boots from Just Fab UK!

I do need your opinions though...does this shirt dress make me look larger than I am? It's a size 16 and was quite baggy (If you buy it, try the size down from what you normally wear in a shirt dress) and I'm not 100% sure that it's flattering! Anyway I'm sure you'll let me know!

Handbag also from Newlook
Peep Toe Boots from Just Fab

I'm hoping to be able to post on here a bit more now I have everything in order and now don't have much else to do (other people are now looking after my business interests mainly). I will sometimes post about my own Boutique but it won't be all the time. I'll only post about the items I've personally worn as I think it's only fair.  I'll still be showing off my best buys from the high street!  ❤

Keeping Busy

I haven't had a second over the last few days so I apologise for the lack of posts! We have been busy having lots of fun with the children and then we've been very busy creating our new business!

Have any of you Mummy's and Daddy's been to Creation Station? We took Amelia and Sebastian on Friday and they absolutely loved it! Sebastian was covered in paint and we now have a little circle man that he made (sort of!).

Excuse the make up free look! I was exhausted!

In other news, over the weekend we started to create our business which encompasses The Sweetie Girls (my business before I became pregnant) and a fashion boutique along with an entertainments business. I receive my first batch of stock tomorrow for "Fashion Fiend" so look out for posts of me styling up some of our items.

Have a lovely week everyone! I'm hoping to launch "Takeover Tuesday" where a fellow "blogger babe" posts on our blog. Look out for a post tomorrow!

Casual Days

Yesterday we had some errands to run and I wanted to get out of the house (hardly been out since my operation) So we decided to take the kids to a local retail park.

Jeans and faux fur Gillet from Newlook
Shirt dress from Quiz

We decided to go to Nandos for dinner (which was delicious) and Amelia enjoyed the vibe - she wouldn't stop dancing to the music even when her chicken came (we just loved the dancing chick chick!).

It was a lovely family day out which we don't often have because it's usually so difficult but because I managed on my crutches,  we could have a look around without me having to push a pushchair as well as being in the wheelchair!

I'd love to know where you'd recommend for a family day out! Leave a message in the comments box!

A Very Happy Day

Today was a good day. A very good day. I have tried not to speak of my disability too much so I don't bore everyone today but I have to mention it as it has been such a happy day.

For over a year, I have struggled to walk at all and have been wheelchair bound or relying on my beloved zim-zim (zimmer frame) around the house.  I've fallen more times than I care to remember and have honestly feared for my baby's life whilst I was pregnant with Sebastian.

My operation was just over two weeks ago and we didn't expect too much from it. We expected my pain to be reduced in ways but it could have flared up due to another condition affecting my ankle. We didn't expect any improvement mobility wise and believed I'd need various other operations and treatment before I would get any kind of improved mobility.

Today, I walked to the park using my crutches.  I know it may only be 20 metres down the road but I walked there none the less.  We, as a family, went our of the house with only a pushchair on wheels with far less stress and hassle than we have done for the last year and it felt incredible!

I know giving birth to my children and getting married to the love of my life are the best days of my life but this came pretty close!

I have a long way to go as I am now in a lot of pain after the walk and I have sensitivity back quite bad (read up on CRPS or COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME if you're interested) but I feel like I've accomplished something. We (including myself before my accident) take walking for granted and when I became pregnant,  I dreamed of taking my children to the park or to a theme park and enjoying it with them. I dreamed of going to the beach and playing with them just like any other parent does.  I dreamed of packing the kids up on a weekend and going camping or going on family holidays last minute if we wished. For a long while, it seemed those dreams had completely gone however, now I have a positivity back that I haven't had for a long time! I often get sideswiped by my health so not being too confident but I'm happy and that's the main thing!

Anyway here's some photos from the day - not my usual blog attire but hey, I don't always wear make up and dress ok! 😂😆😉

My little lady with her Mr Tumble's spotty bag! Happy to be going on a trip with mummy!
 Smiley little lady all excited!

Date Day Disaster

Hands up, who hates when you have good intentions of having an amazing day with your partner and it ends up in a completely pointless argument?  Well this happened to us on Sunday BUT I did manage to get an outfit pic before the argument erupted! 😂

I find dressing for a night out so much easier than dressing for a trip into town or going for lunch.  I very rarely wear black all over but was definitely in that kind of mood so wore my new Tee (featured in a previous post - curves on fleek) and jeans combo with lightweight duster jacket and cute heeled boots.

Tee and Jacket from Boohoo
Jeans from Newlook
Shoes from Missguided
Handbag from River Island

Don't you just hate the wind blowing whilst you take an outfit pic...nothing like ruining your look 😂

I just had to show you all the beautiful flowers my husband bought me as a peace offering after our argument. These were £5 from Tesco and the colours of these Lillies are just stunning!

A Post for the Parents

Just a super quick blog post today not related to fashion! As you know, I have two children, one who is a baby and one crazy toddler! Amelia is my toddler and she is so intelligent (obviously - I'm her mum...I'm biased!) So I feel I have to keep her entertained all the time! If I don't keep her busy, she will play me up and be a little naughty (she is only coming up 20 months so it's forgivable).

Anyway,  when we signed her up for tumbletots we received a bag of goodies and in it was a magazine with loads of cool ideas for keeping your kids entertained including a Weekend box.

It had a good offer on so I thought I'd sign up and just try it out and today we received out first box today and I'm beyond impressed so I had to tell you about it!

I purchased the larger one and it had alsorts of cool things in it like 'make your own rainforest' and make a 'parrot mask' and a couple of other cool activities! It has pretty much everything you need to complete your activity other than the scissors (and the bottle for the rainforest) and then it has completion stickers, sticker charts and certificates when completed.

Box and contents from Weekend Box Club
If you use code EMMA68839 both yourself and I will get a free box!

If you sign up, let me know what you think about the box and tell others if you think my recommendation is a good one or not! Have a lovely weekend everybody!

The Birthday Disaster!

Yesterday (31st March) was my wonderful husbands 29th birthday and I had been looking forward to celebrating it with our family. When I woke up, I didn't feel particularly well but thought I'd get a shower (sat down in the bottom of the shower tray as I still have my foot bandaged up) and get ready and surely I'd eventually start to feel better.

I managed to get out for Michael's Birthday lunch with his mum, dad and brother but afterwards I felt extremely ill and we ended up having to cancel going to the Chandelier Champagne bar (in Doncaster) which I was devastated about (especially because I had my outfit all picked out and babysitters sorted.

I did, however, manage to get a few pictures before I got that ill that I had to go to bed. When you have two young children, I think it is near on impossible to get a nice family picture.  Today,  we managed to get one, of sorts (although Sebastian was asleep and Amelia was more interested in the TV!).

I personally believe that although it's a pain in the a**e to get these photos usually, they are so worth it! These are memories to cherish and photos always help to jog your memory!

Try as we might, Amelia was not going to let us get a proper "outfit pic"! She looked so adorable but she was in her Sassy "I won't pose for pictures" mood today so we gave up after a while! At 19 months old, she isn't really interested in fashion but I like her to look nice, especially on a special occasion!

I usually dress her up in girlie dresses but today I found out an outfit she has been bought for summer and just adored it! This outfit had tribal print, bright colours,  animals and gladiator sandals involved so pretty on trend but in a suitable child like way! I would happily have worn that outfit but with a skirt in the print of the leggings instead!

Top from River Island
Leggings and Gladiator sandals from TU Clothing at Sainsbury's

At the moment, as much as I love fashion, it isn't a huge priority as I am in a lot of pain and I am struggling with Man Flu in all honesty. Today I threw together an outfit I hoped worked.
Waistcoat, tights and boot from Primark
White caged body from Boohoo
Skirt from Newlook

I don't believe today was my finest look however I have to give a huge shout out to that tan leatherette skirt. I have worn it at least 10 times already and never worn it more than once with the same top/ waistcoat/ Gillet combination. That skirt is far more versatile than I ever thought it could be and is definitely a go to piece of clothing if I'm struggling to decide what to wear!
