Curves on Fleek!

Today was my favourite kind of day! I heard a knock at the door and I awoke immediately. I knew it was a parcel for me and I just couldn't wait to rip the bag open and see what beautiful items had arrived!

This parcel was packed full of www.boohoo.com items including a variety of bodysuits for the summer season so I can team them with a denim skirt for cute summer looks! I also received a beautiful top from the plus size section. I bought it because I loved the statement on the front of it! It's full of body image positivity which is what I love! I've been 19 stone, and I'm now 14 stone so hardly thin or to a healthy BMI yet but now I'm far happier with my image than I've ever been. I know I could be healthier and I know I could lose more but right now I'm focusing on getting my ankle better so not focusing on loosing weight.

I definitely appreciate fashion brands promoting the idea that you can be larger and be happy and I think it is good progress on hopefully stopping the hatred towards larger ladies!

Post Surgery Fashion

Apologies for my posts being very sporadic recently! I have A LOT of health issues at the moment so I have to prioritise my health and my family meaning I rarely get time to post!

Tuesday was D-Day for me as I was having surgery to remove the pins and plates that have ( badly) held my ankle together for over 4 years. I was so unbelievably nervous so I didn't sleep the night before so my husband decided to take me to anywhere that was open 24 hours to do some shopping to take my mind off of the impending operation.

By the time the sun came up, we'd got some drinks from McDonald's, lots of clothes and toys for the children,  some new clothes for my husband and a few clothes for me. I spent far too much money but it did have the desired effect - wasn't thinking about my operation!

I didn't need to go into hospital until 4.30pm so spent the day sleeping, organising the house and bathing ready for my operation. I sat at my dressing table and looked at my wardrobe and thought "what do you wear to go into hospital?". I'd love to know your thoughts!  Anyway I wore a simple shirt dress with leggings,  boots and faux fur Gillet!

The surgery went as well as could be expected and I'm happy that I am now home and on the mend!

With my surgery and everything, we haven't planned Easter particularly well and forgot to buy food but invited my grandparents for dinner! When we realised late Saturday night that all the supermarkets were closed Easter Sunday (obviously) we had to book somewhere to take my grandparents Sunday! We managed to find somewhere eventually but this meant me getting out of my pjs for the first time since the op!

It took me a very long time but I managed to get ready and wore a fairly casual outfit. In my opinion, it wasn't my most flattering look but it was relatively comfortable which, at this moment in time, is the most important aspect!

Well I'm off now to see to my poorly 4 month old! Next post will be after Thursday (my husbands birthday).

Overdressed!

Anyone else find themselves always looking far more dressed up than everyone else when you go for a meal out or to an event?  I find this all the time but just don't have the capability of dressing down. If I put jeans and heals on, I just don't feel as confident as when I'm wearing a skirt or pretty dress.

Last night we went out for my grandma's (known as Noo Noo) belated birthday meal. Unfortunately she had been ill the previous week so we moved her meal back a week.

I really struggled on what to wear last night. I know I'm not thin but I like to look as thin a I possibly can which has been very difficult recently due to bloating from the new tablets I'm on because of my disability. I decided to go for black as I find it quite slimming.

Obviously you can tell I'm not thin but I loved this look as it was edgy but also comfortable. However after my recent fall, wearing heals (even though I was in wheelchair) did cause quite a bit of pain. This look definitely showed off my best assets (in my opinion). Please comment if you have any feedback or want any advice!

This Fashion Fiend is Back!

I have been away for a little while to concentrate on helping my husband get better after he broke his collar bone a couple of months back. He's had surgery and he's getting better now so I'm back. I have recently had a very bad fall and unfortunately I am completely wheelchair bound now so the photos I'm uploading will be from a couple of weeks ago. I really love faux leather at the moment and feel so sexy in leather but sometimes it's not very feminine. I found a beautiful dress from Missguided which ticked so many boxes for me.

Dress from MissGuided

This dress is perfect for me. It is sexy with the faux leather but it's feminine because of the pastel nude colour. It is also bang on trend with the tuxedo style wrap over. It is no longer available from MissGuided's plus size section but they have lots of tuxedo style dresses available.
